Liam
Cotter
With over 25 years experience in the Motor and Insurance industries,
Liam has a comprehensive knowledge of both these areas of business,
which impinge on his particular areas of expertise as a Loss Adjustor/Litigation
Engineer.
Having served his formal apprenticeship as a Motor Mechanic, he graduated
from Cork Institute of Technology (formally Cork RTC) with a Mechanics
Diploma and Technicians Diploma, in addition to Parts 1,2 &
3 of the City & Guilds of London. During his training and subsequent
employment, Liam gained invaluable experience working on all manner
of mechanical equipment, such as passenger vehicles, light and heavy
commercial vehicles, agricultural equipment, marine applications and
plant and machinery.
In later years, Liam sat for and was successful in the written entrance
examinations, subsequently becoming a Corporate member of all of the
following professional bodies: The Institute of the Motor Industry,
the Institute of Road Transport Engineers, The Institute of Automotive
Engineer Assessors and recently became a member of the Chartered Institute
of Arbitrators.
In 1995, Liam was successful in gaining a place at University College
Cork on the BCL evening Law Degree course and following 4 years of evening study, graduated in 1999 with a BCL (hon.) Degree. Currently, Liam is studying for a Master's Degree in Motor Vehicle Engineering and Transport Studies, at University of Bolton, U.K. while also being an associate member of the teaching faculty of Europa Academy, Swords, Co. Dublin, where he specializes in E.U. Competition Law, Contract Law and Consumer Law, relating to the Motor Industry.
In conjunction with Europa Academy, Liam was recently awaded a certificate in training and devolopment, becoming a menber of the Irish Institute of Training and Devolopment (IITD) in 2006.
Liams
hobbies include a private pilots licence, motor sport, music
and computers.
